Brown spots to upper board and bottom leaf edges. Some wear and tears to head and tail of spine. Spine dulled. Endpapers age-toned and foxed. Mild fox to last few leaves and occasionally through text. Previous owner's bookplate to front paste-down.

"From notes of the Allison Vincent Armour Expeditions for the United States Department of Agriculture, 1925, 1926, and 1927." Fairchild (1869 - 1954) was an American botanist and plant explorer. He was responsible for the introduction of more than 200,000 exotic plants and varieties of established crops into the United States. SIGNED and INSCRIBED on the half title page by Fairchild: "The Kampong", Coconut Grove, Florida. May 26th, 1954".
