Rust marks from paper clip to top edge of front endpapers and half title. Tiny scattered spots to leaf edges. Signature of previous owner (Jack Matthews) on front free endpaper. Dust jacket shows small stains and minor scratches to panels spine and folds.

Originally published as a series of articles in the early 1960's in the 'Catholic Voice', organ of the Oblate Mission. This compilation much expanded and with illustrations added due to the efforts of David and Claire Molson of Montreal, the latter also contributing an introduction. With hand-written letter regarding the book from Clair Molson to Lakefield College principal Jack Matthews loosely inserted. The first-hand story of the harsh life of a Slavey Indian trapper in the Canadian northwest.
