Royal 8vo., xvi, 340 pp. including appendix. Dark red cloth with title and image of stag in gilt on front cover. Spine ruled and lettered in gilt. Top edge gilt. Six photogravure plates and six colour illustrated plates, each with tissue guard. Plus line and half-tone plates. Two plate maps.

Crush, rub and small splits to cloth at head and tail of spine. Light wear on outer corners. Some light foxing on fore-edges of text block. Tissue guards age-toned. Still a very nice, tight, bright, clean copy.

Narrates the author's hunting experiences, as well as his detailed descriptions of the daily life of the peoples of the outports, and the Indigenous Mi'kmaq Peoples. Beautifully illustrated by the author.
